Jackie Evancho At The Bellagio Las Vegas

I can still remember the goosebumps that Jackie Evancho's angelic voice gave me when I heard her the first time.My teenage daughter called me and and said that I must come and watch and expect the unexpected.Tears were just forming in my eyes as I was watching the Youtube video that took her to performing in front of the America's got talent. Watch that first audition that captured the world and read the article that tells about her coming appearance at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

When Cirque du Soleil presents its benefit spectacular “One Night for One Drop” to a star-studded audience March 22 at Bellagio, a pint-sized 12-year-old wonder is certain to steal the show.
Las Vegas seems to play an ever-increasing role in the success story of Jackie Evancho, who will sing “Hymn of the Worlds’ from 30 feet above the “O” stage at Bellagio for Prince Albert of Monaco, Cirque founder Guy Laliberte and an array of VIPs and celebrities.
As the sole star guest, Jackie will take part in a stunning water and aerial performance when, for the first time, all seven Cirque shows on the Strip close their doors for one night to permit their collaboration in the once-in-a-lifetime show at Bellagio.
Jackie will fly above 237 Cirque performers celebrating Earth’s creation and highlighting water as the essence of life in our ecosystem. One Drop is the nonprofit created by Guy to reverse the world’s growing water crisis.
My Q+A with Krista Monson, the show’s Las Vegas director and choreographer, was posted on Feb. 8. Our thanks to contributing photographer Tom Donoghue and videographer Richard Corey for their coverage of Jackie’s Cirque rehearsals.
Jackie also will be starring in her own show at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on April 13, her first headliner show. She found fame when she was just 10 years old on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” with her pitch-perfect soprano voice. Acclaimed music producer David Foster brought her twice to Mandalay Bay Events Center to star in his shows.
Since the success on “AGT,” Jackie’s career has been on a high-speed rocket ride to fame, and with the solo role in “One Drop” in less than two weeks, her success will be cemented forever.
She’s not phased performing for such a high-profile audience -- earlier this year, she flew to Russia as the sole U.S. performer to sing in front of 100,000 dignitaries attending the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. The Royal Family of the Imperial Palace in Japan invited her to perform for them.
Her debut album in 2011 has sold more than 3 million in the U.S. Her PBS special that followed was the highest-rated in 10 years and broke pledge records. Her latest album, “Songs From the Silver Screen,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s classical charts and at No. 7 on the main album charts. For a second consecutive year, Billboard named her to its 21 Under 21 list, and she’s still not a teenager.
Later this year, she makes her acting debut in Robert Redford’s “The Company You Keep” as his daughter and stars alongside Susan Sarandon, Shia LeBeouf and Nick Nolte. She also will be seen late summer in the Fall Guess Kids clothing campaign.
Watch her recent performance on NBC’s “Today,” and you’ll understand why this youngster who can handle Puccini and pop will emerge a superstar from the Cirque benefit show.
We’ve made a donation to the charity and thus will be attending “One Night for One Drop.” We’ll have a report the next day."
